Joseph Louisell Letter from Camp Near Harrisons Landing 1862

This is a fine and clearly written letter that describes the living conditions and the daily struggles at camp. This letter was written in between battles and this unit was in plenty of battles throughout the war. Joseph Louisell is writing home in this letter and is questioning what he is fighting for. He blames the rich politicians for this war and also sees no need for all these men to die for the rich to line their pockets.
