“Travels Through War Torn Tennessee” Henry C. Clark

This is a letter written from Henry C. Clark from Co. B of the 5th Connecticut Infantry to his wife. In this letter Henry talks about being transported through Tennessee to the Atlanta Campaign, which he would later be a part of. Tennessee had seen a lot of war and destruction at this point in the war and Henry speaks on it in this letter. From graves outside of Nashville to deafening clatter in Wartrace, this letter home is a great representation of what it would have been like to travel through Tennessee during the war.
