Civil War Confederate Belt Buckle – Neuse River, Goldsboro NC Dug Relic

$23.00

Offered is an original Civil War-era iron belt buckle, identified in the accompanying collector documentation as a Confederate buckle recovered near the Neuse River south of Goldsboro, North Carolina.

According to the original note, the buckle was found in 1983 by a relic hunter who spent approximately 30 years searching Civil War sites and retained documentation for many of his finds.

The buckle measures approximately 2½ inches wide by 1¾ inches tall and features a simple rectangular iron frame with a central bar and surviving tongue. The entire piece displays heavy surface oxidation, pitting, and dark brown-black patina from decades spent underground.

The Goldsboro and Neuse River region saw extensive Confederate military activity during the Civil War and became especially significant during the closing stages of the conflict in North Carolina.

Condition: Excavated relic condition with substantial oxidation, pitting, and surface wear. The buckle remains structurally recognizable, with the central bar and tongue still present. Includes the original collector identification note shown in the photographs.

A strong North Carolina Civil War relic with old recovery documentation and attractive battlefield patina, ideal for collectors of Confederate equipment and dug artifacts.

Shipping included to the lower 48 contiguous United States.
