Offered is an original WWII German Army (Heer) early pattern Feldwebel (Sergeant) shoulder board, featuring the metal regimental designation “49” and a single metal rank pip.
This attractive example features the early pointed-top construction with a dark field-green wool center surrounded by silver NCO Tresse (braid). The metal “49” numerals are prominently displayed beneath the single rank pip, identifying the soldier’s regimental affiliation.
The shoulder board retains its original buttonhole at the pointed end and its wool-backed attachment tongue on the reverse. The early construction, silver braid, and numbered insignia make this a desirable example of prewar and early WWII German Army uniform insignia.
Condition: Very good original condition with attractive age-related patina, minor wear to the silver braid, and light wear to the wool backing. Both the metal regimental numerals and rank pip remain present. The original attachment tongue and buttonhole are intact. Please examine all photographs for condition details.
An excellent addition to a collection of WWII German Army uniforms, early Heer insignia, or numbered regimental shoulder boards.
Shipping included to the lower 48 contiguous United States.
