Savage Navy Model Percussion Revolver – Exceptional Condition & Rare Serial Number

$2,750.00

For the discerning collector or enthusiast, this Savage Navy Model Percussion Revolver represents a rare and remarkable piece of history. Produced between 1860 and 1863, this revolver is a fine example of mid-19th century craftsmanship. With its exceptionally low serial number (1434), stamped into the frame under the grips and noted in pencil on the back of the grips, this is truly a special find.

The revolver remains in beautiful condition with deep, crisp manufacturer marks on the frame directly over the cylinder, showcasing the quality of its production. While there is a minor chip on the left side of the handle, it does not detract from the overall presentation. Additionally, the left grip bears a very faded but still visible inspector cartouche, adding to the authenticity of this vintage firearm.

Despite the known complexity of the "Figure 8" trigger system, which has often caused issues with timing and operation on other models, this Savage Navy revolver is an exceptional piece. The action remains tight, smooth, and functional—operating perfectly with excellent, crisp action that is rare for a weapon of its age.

Whether you're adding to a collection or seeking a piece of American history, this Savage Navy Model Percussion Revolver stands as a true testament to 19th-century firearm engineering and craftsmanship.
