Dustin Walbridge Account of Death at Cold Harbor

$275.00

There are 2 letters in this collection as well as a cut out from a Harpers Weekly of Cold Harbor. Cold Harbor was the battle that Dustin Walbridge was wounded and would eventually die because of. The first piece is the last letter that he had written his sister as she wrote on the envelope, sadly she never responded. This letter talks about seeing his brother at camp, Isaac Watts, which wrote the letter talking about his death. The second piece is the letter written about Dustin’s death from Isaac Watts, his brother. He was behind the frontlines and split from his brother, Isaac figured that his brother was safe but through the smoke he could see that his brother had been shot through the arm. He later would have to have his arm amputated and later succumbed to his wounds. I have included a print out of Walbridge and I will also print out a picture of his brother Isaac Watts in uniform. Also included is a copy of Watts index card as well as a large amount of information about Walbridge. This is a moving piece and a very descriptive letter describing the chaos of battle and would make a great collectors piece.
