Dearest Helen,

Nothing else to do this evening so I thought I’d drop you a line and let you know. I am well. You are out of school now, and there is no reason you couldn’t write to me once in a while. I always thought the world of all of you and the rest but I can plainly see you don’t care much about me anymore or you would write. I would like if some of you would see whether the car is in running condition for when I get back. For I think I might be able to get some tires for it if I can. If the car needs anything otherwise I wish you would have it done and I pay for it. I would like to have the car to make the trip up home and use it some up there while I am home.

I haven’t saw Lawrence or anyone. I know over here yet only the boys and the battery. I don’t think I make it home for another couple of months the way they are shoving us around. As news is scarce, I closed for the night.

Love

Your Brother Chester.
