Almost every unit of the German Luftwaffe during WWII had its own emblem that it often applied to aircraft. In addition pilots often had their own personal emblem. Today, it is not always easy to recognize these emblems on wartime photos but they often reveal important information about the aircraft and/or aircrew on the photos.
